Dear Abby...
Amid all of the hooting, rationalizing, and cries of despair, some people are offering Sarah Palin advice as to how to make her way in the world as a private citizen and Possible Conservative Great White Hope. I suspect she will continue to make her own way, but Bill Quick had some good ideas, including this: Run, Sarah, Run
2. Ignore the mainstream media and the Democratic party. Define herself on her own terms. No more chat-fests with the likes of Katie Couric. No more efforts to make herself likeable to enemies whose only wish is to see her career -- and conservatism itself -- destroyed.
Why should Sarah Palin make any attempt to pay attention to the NY Times, as long as Maureen Dowd is calling her Caribou Barbie? Why should she go on one of the big networks if their anchors are going to grill her on Supreme Court precedent while Democrtic candidates are asked about their children? Worse, why give them an audience (and ad revenue) that they don't deserve?
If she appears on Fox, she'll appear in front of a bigger audience than if she went on Larry King or the Chris Matthews show. If she appears on Rush Limbaugh, that's 20 million listeners, at least. Mark Levin is officially the most influential conservative writer in a generation. Go talk to him, don't talk to a fake conservative writer like Joe Scarborough. And keep giving interveiws to unorthodox outlets like "Runner World." That will humanize you a lot faster than a dozen Barbara Walters interviews.
The GOP, and especially Sarah Palin, can no longer play along with the politically correct purveyors of "objective" reporting. They can't get their message out. And, the audience isn't even there any more.
